At least 143 individuals representing different sectors comprised of tribal leaders, people’s organizations, sports enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, sector leaders, environment advocates, farmers and women’s organization have joined forces to hold the first ever “Malaybalay City Tourism Industry Stakeholders” forum.
Ms. Marie Elaine S. Unchuan, Regional Director – Department of Tourism (DOT) 10 graced the occasion held last June 19, 2018 at Veranda, Casisang, Malaybalay City.
Among the topics discussed were promotion, accreditation and collaboration of initiatives and efforts both in public and private sectors to fully realize the impact of tourism industry in the City.
Guidelines and criteria were also being tackled as well as issues and concerns were also addressed anchored in Republic Act 9593 otherwise known as the “Tourism Act of 2009” as basis for future planning and development.
The concerted efforts of stakeholders to come up with the final output will be then presented to the City Mayor, Sangguniang Panlungsod and to the DOT.
