In celebration of the 147th Aldaw Ta Malaybalay, the City Tourism Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region X, conducted a two-day Community-Based Kulinarya Workshop for barangay representatives and Tourism-Related Establishments (TRE). The workshop was held at Veranda, Barangay Casisang, Malaybalay City, on June 6 and 7, 2024.
The participants of this seminar-workshop were grouped and will join as official contestants in the SUSUDAEN 2024 Culinary Competition on June 13, 2024.
The workshop aims to raise awareness about the importance of proper food handling, preparation, and presentation, while also teaching participants how to develop dishes utilizing locally available products to promote inclusive community growth.
With the help of the resource speaker and DOT-accredited trainer, Chef Roseller S. Fiel II, the participants learned about the introduction to culinary arts, food safety, and sanitation.
A hands-on cooking demonstration was conducted on day two, where the participants showcased local cuisine and dishes. The enthusiasm of the 27 local attendees was evident through their active participation in the culinary workshop.
