In the effort to have an orderly flow of vehicles and pedestrians alike during the traditional All Souls and All Saints Day, the Traffic Management Center (TMC) deployed over 30 personnel to different parts of the City in the special operation dubbed as “Oplan Kaluluwa.”
According to TMC report, the operation which was started on October 31, 2019 and the next two days thereafter, aims to effectively manage the traffic due to the influx of motorists going in and out of cemeteries.
TMC said manning of enforcers to strategic locations and chokepoints helped ease traffic. The traffic department also provided makeshift parking lots to our constituents while visiting the graves of their departed love ones.
Personnel of the TMC assigned in the City proper had double shifts that ran from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM for the first shift, and the second shift started at 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. On the other hand, TMC deployed to barangays outside of the Poblacion had single post duties handled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The six major cemeteries positioned by traffic enforcers were Shepherds Meadow at Brgy. Sumpong, Malaybalay Public Cemetery at Brgy, 7, Pryce Garden and Orchard Garden at Laguitas and Cabangahan and the Linabo public cemetery.
