Eight more barangays delighted over their new communication equipment during the turnover ceremony initiated by Councilor Niko P. Aldeguer.
Held at Brgy. Zamboangita, the event was the third batch of barangay-recipients given two pairs of portable hand-held radios.
These emergency equipment were made possible through the unwavering support of the Second District Congressman, Atty. John T. Flores and City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr.
In attendance were barangay officials and BPSOs of Silae, Mapulo, Indalasa, Zamboanguita, St. Peter, Caburacanan, Kulaman and Busdi.
In his message, Aldeguer expressed his optimism that the equipment will be used properly, saying, “In times of emergencies, the BPSOs, punong barangays and kagawads are the first onsite responders. With these radios, we can communicate better to address the welfare and safety of our people.”
On the other hand, Mayor Flores expressed the importance of proper communication. “I hope we will be able to cooperate and help each other in times of need so that lives may be saved,” the Mayor stressed.
Atty. John Flores also thanked and congratulated everyone who joined the ceremony. “We can help each other if we establish an effective means of transmitting vital information happening in the ground,” he emphasized.
