The Buntis Summit 2024 took place on July 9, 2024, in Brgy. Mapulo, Upper Pulangi District, Brgy. Mapulo, bringing together teenage and high-risk pregnant women for a comprehensive day of education and support.

The summit featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang, MD, City Health Officer II, Dr. Kim T. Luardo, MD, Family Health Medical Coordinator, Dr. Pauline Faith Miguel, MD, DTTB, Dr. Vincent Raguro, MD, MPH, DMO V – PDOHO Bukidnon, Jeramell Y. Gustilo, Admin. Officer – PDOHO Bukidnon, Carol Rae Portillas, RN, DMO 3-Designate, Eza C. Canonigo, RND, Nutrition Action Officer III, Roger Gamba, STI/HIV-AIDS staff, Eden Pancho, RMT, Iris Pala, RN, Upper Pulangi Nurse Coordinator, Joy Tanquion and Germelyn Ubilas, popdev staff, Upper Pulangi midwives, BHW & BNS, HRH/NDP, and Kharl Karen Libot, RN, NBS Nurse Coordinator.

The event was also graced by Hon. Kathleen Cecille Pagaling, City Councilor, Anthony James Mondia, representative of City Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabilaran, and Hon. Joylyn C. Atchame, Brgy Captain of Barangay Mapulo.

The summit aimed to educate participants on the importance of safe motherhood, providing essential information and resources to help them navigate their pregnancies safely and make informed decisions about their health and the health of their babies. Topics covered included prenatal care, nutrition, childbirth, postpartum care, family planning, and STI/HIV awareness and prevention.

The Buntis Summit 2024 is part of a series of summits held across five districts, offering lectures, free hemoglobin, syphilis, and HbsAg tests, and tokens to participants. This initiative seeks to empower women to have healthier pregnancies and births through comprehensive education and support.
