For the first time, Barangay San Isidro, Talakag, Bukidnon, has benefited from advanced reproductive technologies and essential veterinary services through a collaborative effort among the Provincial Veterinary Office of Bukidnon, the Municipal Agriculture Office of LGU Baungon, the City Veterinary Office of LGU Malaybalay, and Barangay San Isidro officials.
Held on February 18, 2025, the initiative introduced heat synchronization and pregnancy diagnosis services for cows and carabaos. Additionally, livestock owners received vaccinations, vitamin supplementation, and deworming for their cattle, carabaos, horses, and goats—key interventions aimed at improving livestock health and productivity in the area.
The program was led by officials and veterinarians from various agencies, including Kagawad Lorence Pacuño (Committee on Agriculture) and Leonardo Emilao Wabe from LGU Talakag, Barangay San Isidro; Dr. Rosell Vasaya, Dr. Aurora Palmes, Dr. Erika Valiente, Alain N. Tubo (Provincial AI Coordinator), Anna Mae Aplaya, and Jomar Sanchez from the Provincial Veterinary Office; John Mark Sumile and Larry Tagucon from LGU Baungon Municipal Agriculture Office; and Alexis I. Flores II (Agricultural Center Chief), Dr. Omar T. Cahanap (Livestock Program Officer), and Rexan Van Dequito from Malaybalay City Veterinary Office.
This partnership responds to the Provincial Veterinary Office’s call for assistance and marks a significant milestone for the livestock sector of Barangay San Isidro.
The collaborative effort seeks to boost livestock health, improve reproductive efficiency, and support local farmers in increasing productivity and sustaining their livelihoods. By integrating advanced veterinary care and reproductive technologies, the program paves the way for a more sustainable and resilient livestock industry in Bukidnon.
