The City Civil Registry office (CCRO) conducted a 2-day orientation-seminar and workshop highlighting the importance of civil registry documents in the conduct of the Philippine ID System (PhilSys) Step 2 Registration on March 30-31, 2021. This endeavor was in coordination with Bukidnon Civil Registrar and Personnel, Inc. (BUCRAPA) and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) provincial office.

Held at the Garden Party Venue, Brgy. 1, the activity was participated by 46 barangay captains together with their respective representatives, barangay secretaries, IP mandatory representatives, and barangay records keepers.

PSA personnel led by Atty. Ana S. Bonita, Registration Office II and PhilSys focal person in Bukidnon stressed the significance of civil documents in Phil ID registration. She also reiterated the primary role of elected barangay officials during data and digital capturing. PSA Registration Officer Jonathan M. Cabugsa, featured the use of Phil ID and its impact on future needs and regulatory measures. He also clarified issues on double registration of identity and provided an alternative solution based on the mandated act.

Meanwhile, Registration Officer Susan F. Llido expressed the civil registration role of barangay officials and secretaries based on RA 7160, as well as the processes of civil registration, timely and delayed, legitimation, and laws as cited on R.A. 9255, R.A. 9858. In addition, Records Officer Ronald T. Ramao presented topics on the correction of clerical error, change of first name, R.A. 9048, R.A. 10172, court decrees, annulment, divorce, dissolution of marriage, and supplemental report.

Through the workshop, Civil Registrar Priscilla G. Tilanduca also highlighted key topics being discussed from different resource speakers that were beneficial to the participants and their barangay constituents.
