The Malaybalay City Fire station together with the Bureau of Fire Protection Provincial (BFP) Office extended their support to different agencies who requested evaluation of their performance of earthquake drills.

“When earthquake strikes, practice and drills are the only thinkable way to prevent or lessen casualties,” said one of the BFP evaluating team.

The activity was part of the nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill (NSED) held in November 14, 2019. City Fire Marshall Lloyd Villaroya led the team that evaluated and coached participants from the Provincial government offices, Malaybalay City Central School and Airport Village Elementary School.

National line agencies who were also assessed in the simulation included the Land Transportation Office, National Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Public Works and Highways. Private entities who also observed the NSED were San Isidro College and other business establishments, according to BFP report.

Fire marshall Villaroya emphasized that feedback were expressed in terms of corrections and critiquing during open forum in order to improve their understanding of the drill which is vital when real scenario strikes.
