The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) of Bukidnon turned over livelihood starter kits worth P 1.5 million to 263 qualified beneficiaries, all residents of Malaybalay City under the Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB).

DOLE Bukidnon head Raul Valmores together with the City Administrator Herculano S. Ronolo, also the City Public Employment Service Officer formally handed the ‘kabuhayan’ starter kits to masterlisted recipients during the turn-over ceremony at the New City Hall on December 11, 2017.

Starter kits include 40 carpentry beneficiaries; manicurist (63); massage therapist (60); baking (40); cooking (30); and beautician (30).

Each recipient of carpentry kit alone amounted to at least P 10,000.00 while other tool packages valued not less than P 2,000.00 but not more than 7,000.00.

The BUB livelihood program aims to equip our less privilege skilled residents with proper tools to enhance and improve their skills who were all members of the 4Ps program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

DSWD will then monitor the economic condition of these beneficiaries relative to impact of the BUB-projects.
