Another special project of the City Government of Malaybalay under the leadership of Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri conducted the first ever “Summer Tutorial Classes 2018.”

This initiative was facilitated by City Mayor’s Office, City Comprehensive Scholarship Section which catered two major academic subjects in english and mathematics.

About 70 kids were enrolled divided into two categories according to ages. Children ages 6-9 years old were taught in morning session while 10-12 years old in the afternoon.

The new program was a great privilege open to all interested children of Malaybalay City offered for free. It was also geared in helping them advance their knowledge in a creative and fun-filled approach.

Enrollees were given free kits comprised of pencils, papers, name tags and envelops to be used during classes.

Among the topics discussed for English were noun, adjectives, verb, pronoun and preposition. For Mathematics were skip counting, place value, addition, subtraction, pictograph, bar graph, rounding numbers, and relation symbol.

Classes ran in three weeks which started last May 7, 2018 and ended on May 25, 2018 held at Barangay 4, Malaybalay City.

Culmination program was then held last May 26, 2018 at Barangay 4, Covered Court along with the other activities of the 7th Malaybalay City Musical, Dance, Art Training-Workshop 2018.

All students were given certificates of completion and the outstanding students were also given special awards, certificates and medals: Best in English, Best in Spelling, Best in Mathematics, Best in Memory Verse, Most Active, Most Behave, Most Cheerful, Most Courageous, Most Courteous, Most Enthusiastic, Most Friendly, Most Honest, Most Obedient, Most Participative, Most Polite and Most Resourceful.

At least 10 Malaybalay City Scholars who majored in the said subjects volunteered their services on this noble cause namely: Yoniel G. Almerida, Florivic T. Macabugto, Lenelyn N. Maderse, Ashley Niccle T. Cejas, Cheanie Mae A. Lamban, Blezza Lhea G. Balane, Lendon C. Daguyo, Jick Lloyed M. Melloria, Allen Dave S. Pahanguin and Angel Ferrie J. Galamiton.
