The Bureau of Local Government and Finance (BLGF) recognized the City of Malaybalay for its local revenue collection efficiency, being ranked as top 2 in regional rankings of component cities – Region 10.

The City has garnered collection efficiency of 124.4 percent amounted to P-151.4 million (M) from its revenues target of P-121.7 M, which also hailed as top 20 in the national rankings among competitive local governments.

With the implementation of the revised revenue code, as well as the updating of schedule of market values, the City Government surpassed the target based on the 2017 BLGF target for total local revenues.

Collections of local sources include real property tax, business and other taxes, fees and charges and economic enterprises in which the City Treasurer’s Office and City Assessor’s Office displayed a commendable performance in collaboration with the concerted efforts and support of City Officials and employees.

Acting Regional Director, Elvira S. Daradar, REA conferred the award and gave the plaque of recognition on August 13, 2019 at Cagayan de Oro City and was then presented during the City’s Convocation program last August 19, 2019.
