In line with the Kaamulan Festival Celebration 2017, Seven Tribes of Bukidnon participated the Indigenous Peoples (IP’s) Week. Part of the activity was a Tribal Wedding Ceremony held on March 13, 2017, Monday, 8:00AM at Kaamulan Open Theater.
There were 12 couples participated the ceremony solemnized by Tribal Chieftain Warlito S. Sagubay and Bae Adelina L. Tarino in accordance with their customary laws, rites, traditions and practices under Republic Act 8371.
Office of the City Civil Registrar through the headship of Ms. Priscilla G. Tilanduca facilitated the event.
Ms. Tilanduca said that the program aims to legalize the marriage of our brothers and sisters in the IP community who are already living together as husband and wife.
Once wed, they have the opportunity to avail several programs of the national government such as 4P’s – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Philhealth beneficiaries, she added.
