City of Malaybalay is estimated to collect a total of 18 to 20 tons of solid wastes daily by our collection teams from all areas.

To enhance the delivery of the solid waste collection services under the Solid Waste Integrated Management (SWIM) Program of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO), three brand new garbage compactors were recently purchased by the City Government through the initiative of the City Mayor Ignacio W. Zubiri.

The additional garbage compactors worth P22.5-million are expected to support our aspiration for efficient and effective solid waste collection.

At present, there are eight garbage trucks comprised of three dump trucks and five compactors used in the collection.

The additional compactors can really improve the efficiency of collection of the 41 out of the 46 barangays served by the collection services.

Only non-biodegradable wastes are collected from the 10 Basakan barangays, seven Highway barangays, eight Upper Pulangui barangays including Can-ayan and Magsaysay.

While both biodegradable and non-biodegradable solid wastes are collected from the 11 Poblacion Barangays including Casisang, Sumpong and Kalasungay.
