The Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP)-Region 10, with the help of Malaybalay City Fire Station personnel, and the Office of the Provincial Fire Director (OPFD), conducted the BFP Region 10 Oplan Ligtas Pamayanan (OLP) live coverage through their Facebook page, Bureau of Fire Protection R10, last October 22, 2022, at the Ethno-Historical Exhibit, New City hall, Malaybalay City.

It was attended by BFP Region 10 personnel, Malaybalay City Fire Station personnel, Office of the Provincial Fire Director Personnel, and Head Officer of Malaybalay City Tourism, Ms. Honolu Marie C. Cruzin, for a short interview. The interview was all about the history of Malaybalay and what tourist attractions it could offer.

After the interview, there was a discussion dubbed, “Oplan Kaluluwa” for the upcoming All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day. They tackled fire prevention tips as people usually leave their homes during holidays while others forget to unplug their wires, which is one of the factors that causes unwanted fire incident.

BFP R10 shared their knowledge to introduce and identify the five hazard mapping and preparedness of different LGUs in fire protection.

The activity was done in order to spread and promote fire safety awareness through social media platforms and the discussion was successfully delivered to the virtual audiences. Through practicing fire safety precaution, it can prevent the probability of fire that causes property damage, injury, and death.
