The City Administrator’s Office hosted the first convocation of the year of the City Government of Malaybalay bearing the theme, “Work as an Agent of Change.” The program was held on January 13, 2020 aimed at advocating proactive work attitude in the government.

City Mayor Florencio T. Flores, Jr., in his message, urged employees that we should embrace change for the better and continue to strive in doing our best for the services we offer to the people.

Mayor Flores added that only the people can tell if we serve them better. “We have to move forward as one for a better Malaybalay,” he stressed.

The local chief executive also thanked the honorable members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Jay Warren R. Pabillaran for approving the City’s 2020 budget. The approval of the budget is instrumental to the programs, projects and activities set for implementation this year.

In the program, invited guest speaker Ms. Kathleen Kate Sorilla, Public Employment Service Office Manager of Cagayan de Oro City graced the occasion sharing her wisdom and inspiring message relevant to the theme.

The speaker emphasized the importance of growth in our ourselves as we advance work by learning and improving geared towards positive change.

She also stressed significant values we have to practice to become one of the agents of change. Observing time etiquette in our job is important as she explained that working on time is respecting other people’s time.

The activity held at the People’s Hall was attended by City Officials and employees of the City Government along with men and women in uniform.
