In a bid to qualify as finalist in the Regional Search for Best Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the City Government of Malaybalay was adjudged in the Province of Bukidnon as the Best PESO in component City category, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

City Administrator Herculano S. Ronolo also the City’s PESO Manager received the coveted recognition during the Awards Night at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The award recognized the City for its significant contribution and outstanding accomplishments in the implementation of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) employment facilitation programs.

Ronolo who is also the PESO-Managers League President of Region 10 hinted the big challenges ahead in vying for the most sought-after award. It can be recalled that the City Government was a national finalist in 2014 after being a regional awardee.

Regional Director, Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao conferred the City of Malaybalay as one of the finalists along with the cities of Gingoog, El Salvador and Oroquita.

Through the strong support of City Mayor Ignacio Zubiri, the local PESO has been very active in facilitating series of job fairs, conducting career guidance and employment coaching, job referral and placement for constituent-jobseekers and the establishment of PESO Employment Information System (PEIS).

According to DOLE, PEIS contains the profiles of all persons and employers registered under the National Skills Registration Program. It shows information on the qualifications and skills of the applicants as well as the job vacancies of registered employers.
