To promote the development of the Out of School Youth (OSY) and other disadvantaged youth in terms of spiritual, economic, physical, cultural and social development, 10 Pag-Asa Youth Association (PYA)- OSY leaders coming from the different barangay PYA local groups in the City of Malaybalay completed the 34-day training of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC 1 (TESDA-SMAW NC1).

The training which started last July3, 2023 to August 17, 2023 was held at the SMAW-TESDA -CATS training Center in barangay San Jose, this City.

One of the program strategy of Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) under the Unlad Kabataan program (UKP) is to train the youth especially the OSY to be empowered in their role for nation building, to be self-reliant, economically productive and socially responsible citizens.

The training was conducted through the slot offered by TESDA SMAW to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) – Youth Welfare Section (YWS) with TESDA NC l & ll Trainer Mr. Cristito Adrales.

The YWS staff led by Youth Development Officers Ms. Genia C. Francisco and Mr. Rodolfo G. Estaniel, Jr. together with Cresty Joy Molhay and Shen Ray Dumaguit visited the training center and congratulated the students who successfully finished the SMAW NC l training course last August 17, 2023.
