The City Health Office HIV Awareness Team has partnered with a diverse group of stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to organize a crucial HIV/AIDS awareness activity at The Gardens Party Venue in Malaybalay City. The event aimed to disseminate essential information and educate attendees about the significance of the HIV/AIDS program.

Held on September 20, 2023, the gathering saw participation from various stakeholders, including representatives from Bethel Baptist Hospital, St. Jude General Hospital, Malaybalay Polymedic General Hospital, Malaybalay Medical Hospital Care, the Philippine Red Cross, Gaisano, DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment), LAPANDAY, BUKSU (Bukidnon State University), BNHS (Bukidnon National High School), SIC (San Isidro College), local churches, BUGEMCO (Bukidnon Government Employees Cooperative), and the Association of Pharmacists.

The day-long event was designed to promote awareness through a series of engaging activities. It included a comprehensive “HIV 101 Lecture” that provided essential information about the virus, a discussion on “Workplace Policy and Updates” to address issues related to HIV/AIDS in the workplace, a testimony from a person living with HIV (PLHIV), interactive workshops, group activities, and an open forum for attendees to ask questions and share insights.

The organizers emphasized the critical importance of collaboration among various sectors in the fight against HIV/AIDS. By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the event aimed to foster understanding, encourage dialogue, and strengthen the commitment to combat this global health challenge.
