The City Health Office (CHO) has taken a significant step towards enhancing the healthcare services for its senior citizens. Led by Dr. Dennis P. Sangalang, City Health Officer II, in collaboration with the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Head, Mr. Rene Cipriano, and Chief Local Insurance Officer of Bukidnon, Mr. Romulo Lapuz Jr., has commenced the PhilHealth Konsulta Registration and Profiling program for all senior citizens in the city.

Dr. Sangalang expressed his gratitude to all parties involved and emphasized that the program’s ultimate goal is to enhance the well-being of the elderly population by providing accessible and quality healthcare services.

Starting this month of July 2023, the Konsulta program aims to improve the overall health of senior citizens by having a package for early detection of diseases. PhilHealth’s Konsulta package encompasses a range of preventive care services, including consultations and health risk screenings and assessments.

The program has already made considerable progress, with successful registrations in several barangays across the city. As of July 13, 2023, 98 senior citizens in Barangay Magsaysay have registered for the PhilHealth Konsulta. Barangay Laguitas served 120 senior citizens the following day on July 14, 2023.

The initiative gained momentum as it reached Barangay Dalwangan, where 214 senior citizens registered on July 19, 2023. The next day, on July 20, 2023, Barangay Miglamin accommodated 232 senior citizens. On July 21, 2023, in Barangay Maligaya, 210 senior citizens were catered.

Senior citizens have praised the CHO, OSCA, and PhilHealth for their joint efforts in implementing such a crucial healthcare initiative. They hoped this program would continue in the coming months to serve more beneficiaries.
